Biography

Isaak was born before June 13, 1735 in Kingston, New York. His father, Isaac Van Aken, was 32 and his mother, Rachel DeWitt, was 36. Isaak was baptized on 17 June 1736, recorded as the child of Isaac Van Aken and Rachel DeWitt. [1]The baptism was performed by Domine Vas and was recorded in the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston, New York. Witnesses were Tobyas van Bueren and Lena Bogardus.[2]

Marriage

Isaak married Margaret (Hornbeck) Van Aken 13 October 1754 in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer, New York, USA.
They had at least 10 children in 28 years. [3]

Van Auken-85 and Van Aaken-18 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same daughter, same death data. Birth dates are somewhat different, but [REDACTED: See below].... Merge to the PPP profile van Aaken-18.

ADDED: The birth date discrepancy is due to confusion between years and the assertion of an unsourced birth date. In my opinion, unless there's a source for his birth a year earlier, the date should be "before" the baptism date of 13 June 1736.

Isaac did not die as an infant. He married in 1754 and had 9 children. He died 22 July 1796 in Orange, New York.
